Kesäbisnes – Vitality and Business to the Rural Areas

Timetable: 1.5.2017-30.4.2019

Kesäbisnes (Summer business) aims to raise the employment rates and bring vitality and strength to the rural areas by offering and modelling a safe, low-threshold way for the youth to employ themselves as entrepreneurs. The project expands the good practices of the Kesäyrittäjä (Summer Entrepreneur) project, run in the urban area to better serve the needs of the youth living in the rural areas.

The project has a strong emphasis on low carbon themes. The project will develop and deploy an information package for educational institutions and business advisory organizations on the themes of bio- and circular economy and resource- wise entrepreneurship.

The project will pilot a new service mode for the business development services in the rural areas. Close collaboration with entrepreneurship education as well as educational institutes will provide a long-lasting platform for the results and service models.

The project is funded by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development, BusinessOulu and Micropolis Ltd. The overall budget is 126 511 e.
