The overall aim of the project is to create new business activities in the Oulu region by improving the energy self-sufficiency and also to increase the access of small-scale production to the grid.
Project improves the business potential of small-scale energy production, increases the use of renewables and creates markets for biogas and dried wood chips. To increase the use of renewables project makes a survey of existing oil and electrical heating solutions in district, industrial and residential heating. To improve and create new businesses, suggestions for converting heating systems into renewable energy sources are made and business plans for new entrepreneurship are made.
Considered solutions include wood chips, small-scale CHP, geothermal, solar systems and hybrid heating. Pilot targets for new device manufacturers and energy producing solutions are searched. Actions will done to develope new business concepts for small-scale power and heat production. Projects main result is the improved regional economy as investments in local energy production enhances entrepreneurship, provides more employment and diversifies economy.
